WE WANT YOUR WORK!

The sell-out Perfect Diary has been publishing and promoting works by Australasian artists, poets, writers, cartoonists & photographers for ten years. If you want your work to be in the 2005 edition, then send three contributions to us by 14 July 2004. There’s no entry fee and, if your work gets in, you’ll be in the running for our Readers’ Choice Prize of $1,000 (many congratulations to Sydney artist Richard Ellard, the winner of this year's prize and many thanks to all of our readers who voted)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 


The Perfect Diary is a B&W, week-to-an opening diary, with one work featured each week. The maximum space allocated to works is 9cm wide by 11cm high.

Please send no more than three original, recent works. There is no fee and there is no theme (but don’t send in work unless you consider it to be perfect). Contributors must live in Australasia. Biographies and portfolios are not required.
TEXT WORKS: maximum of 600 words or 50 lines. Send typed originals on white paper and / or files on disk or as standard format email attachments.
ART WORKS: black and white only (portrait format fits best) send originals or high-quality copies (not larger than A4), slides or files on disk, email or cd. We can scan and scale images to fit.

original artwork and photographs: B&W, not larger than A4. If you want your work returned please include appropriate packaging and an SSAE.
copies: high quality copies are good, note that we use and assess the material we receive, if we like an image but it is a poor-quality copy, we are unlikely to put it in the diary.
slides: on each slide show the artist’s name, contact information and the correct orientation of the image.
cds, floppies and zip discs: send as TIFFs or JPEGs, 300 or 600 dpi. If you want the disc returned please include appropriate packaging and an SSAE.
attachments: send as JPEGs, 300 dpi. Keep the file sizes below 3 meg.

THE DEADLINE FOR CONTRIBUTIONS IS WEDNESDAY 14TH JULY 2004
All successful contributors will be contacted in August and will receive one complimentary diary and up to five diaries at cost. We cannot notify unsuccessful contributors unless they send an SSAE with their work. By contributing your work to The Perfect Diary you are giving us the right to use it in the diary and related publicity material but you retain copyright. The Perfect Diary Reader’s Choice Prize is an aquisitive prize, meaning we would like a signed original of the chosen work in return.
