PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WILL NOT BE A PERFECT DIARY 2006 SO WE DO NOT WANT CONTRIBUTIONS THIS YEAR. VISIT THIS SITE IN 2006 FOR INFORMATION ABOUT ANY FURTHER CONTRIBUTION CALLS.

Information for the last call for contributions appears below.

The reason that The Perfect Diary is a beautiful thing because it’s crammed with wonderful, ingenious and exciting works, one to delight and excite our readers every week. These works come from our magnificent contributors.

There are around 54 works in every Perfect Diary, established and emerging contemporary artists and writers of all ages, creeds and predilictions, fom all corners of the continent.

The contributions arrive at our studio following an annual call for contributions which takes place around June. As the popularity of The Perfect Diary grows, so does the amount of work we receive each year. The call for contributions for The Perfect Diary 2004 attracted well over 3,000 contributions, of which an alarming number were excellent. After the initial selection process this year we found ourselves with enough great works to easily fill two diaries. So we choose works with an eye for giving our readers a varied and stimulating year and, sadly, leave out many pieces that we think are magnificent.

We want YOU to send in your work. The more we have to choose from, the better the diary will be. You may have been producing work for your entire life, or knocked something up on the bus, the only thing that matters is that you know your work is perfect.

Send up to three of your works to us, and who knows, this time next year, your short story, photograph, poem, artwork or cartoon could be part of the daily lives of 2,500 discerning Perfect Diary readers - shown to their friends, admired and appreciated all over the world.

Below is more information about our call for contributions and a little about our contributors.

WIN THE $1,000 READERS' CHOICE PRIZE

The Perfect Diary is a beautiful, engaging and useful, week-to-an-opening diary that is sold throughout Australia with a print run of 2,500 copies.
Each week a literary or artistic work (54 in all) is featured. These works come from contributions that are sent to The Perfect Diary each July. Last year we received over 2,300 works from all over Australia.
Readers of The Perfect Diary vote for their favourite work each year, the contributor who's work receives the most votes gets $1,000.

If you would like your work to appear in this unique publication please read the entry requirements and send up to three works to the address below.
Successful contributors will be contacted in August and will receive one complimentary diary and up to five diaries at cost. They will also be invited to put other works in The Big Show at The Perfect Diary website, which attracts an audience from around the world.

Each edition of The Perfect Diary is launched in September each year.

Without the wonderful works that are featured each week, from contributors from all over the country, The Perfect Diary would be Just Another Diary.

Below is a list of our recent contributors. Go to The Big Show or THIS MONTH (use the navigation bar at the top of the page) to see more of their work.If you are a writer or artist who lives in Australia you should consider sending your work in. Our diary is unique, adored, remarkable and fascinating and can take your work to a suprisingly large audience. Consider this:

we print a minimum of 2,500 diaries, each Perfect Diary is carried and shown around by its discerning owner for one year, if one other person looks through the diary every week then your work has a potential audience of 132,500 people, if one other person looks through the diary every day then the number is 912, 500!
