Clem is a ninety-three year old fellow who lives in Bluebottle Beach, on Australia's Central Coast. He got so fed up with the hopeless CD Rom encyclopaedias around that he, with the help of some of the town, made his own. Australian international literary magazine HEAT has been around since July 1996 and features high quality writing and design.

Now in its second series, HEAT is published from the College of Arts, Education and Social Sciences at the University of Western Sydney, where it is associated with the Writing and Research Group, and shares its commitment to contemporary literary and publishing, the accessible and interesting presentation of scholarly research, and a wide-ranging exploration of the social power of writing.

HEAT is designed to travel, across academic boundaries, across literary categories, across languages and cultures. It offers variety in a single volume, poetry and fiction, essays and reviews, art and photography. It rewards concentrated reading at a single sitting.

The new series HEAT is edited by Ivor Indyk and designed by Harry Williamson.
